The engine sits longitudinally in the frame and has good cooling with the cylinder in the air stream. The engine is balanced well for smooth operation. A durable single-plate dry clutch transmits power. All gears in the transmission are constant mesh. The 4 gears enable the engine to perform well under varied conditions.

“The BMW telescopic front fork is oil damped and well sealed, and does not require special care. It provides for good road-hugging properties and pleasant riding.

“The strong, rugged, and noiseless BMW rear drive unit offers maximum durability and working reliability. Naturally, it does not leak oil and is water proof. Meshed pinion gears drive the rear wheel. The harmful effects of difficult riding conditions are mitigated by the drive shaft and rubber joint at the rear of the transmission.”
