¿¿¿ Who Am I ???
Last updated January 20, 2008, so I can keep track of myself.

Here I am with my 1969 Granada red BMW R60/2.

Here is my biography that is posted on the Madison (WI) Area Technical College's MATC Motorcycle Safety Program web site.
Who am I?
This is a question that has perplexed philosophers and others for ages. One of the more recent men unforgettably to voice this quandaryto general amusementwas Admiral James Bond Stockdale. Reform Party Candidate Ross Perot's running mate, Admiral Stockdale posed this question to start the U.S. vice-presidential debates of 1992. It was French Philosopher René Descartes (1596-1650) who penned the famous line, cogito ergo sum I think, therefore I am. Perhaps I should simply keyboard, "I create this website, therefore I am"at least on the world-wide web I am. |
My inquiry is much more modest. I merely wish to note who I am here in secular and common sensical terms for purposes of my humble website I am Jeff Dean, an obsessed motorcyclist (according to my long-suffering wife, Jillwho is absolutely correct), a motorcycle instructor and coach, an architectural historian, a photographer of historic buildings, and in all other ways a wandering rider on the great twisting road of life.
That's me in February 2007, above, riding a friend's 1950 R51/2.

Here I am in August 1967 riding the first real motorcycle I ever owned. It was a 1966 BMW R60/2. I learned about correct riding gear a bit later. Click on photo to go to my R60/2 page. |
Current favorite quotation: It's never too late to have a happy childhood.
